HUMANS release steamy new house-infused track and music video for ‘Breakfast With Liz’

Canadian indie-electronic act, HUMANS, released a brand new house track today along with a steamy video for their single ‘Breakfast With Liz’ via Haven Sounds. ‘Breakfast With Liz’ follows their earlier release ‘Still About You’, which all teases new music to head our way.

The HUMANS duo is made up of Vancouver locals Robbie Slade and Peter Ricq and is not easily boxed into one genre; HUMANS take inspiration from an eclectic variety of sources, citing some of their influences as Fleetwood Mac, young Elton John, Marvin Gaye, Young Fathers, Lee Fields, Detroit Swindle, Mall Grab, Abjo, LA Priest, Soft Hair, Mount Kimbie, LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, Ty Segall and Steve Lacy. Using crisp modern minimalist beats paired with chilled-out vocals, HUMANS’ sound could best be compared directly to indie electronic giants RÜFÜS DU SOL, Amtrac and Bob Moses, as well as Maribou State’s chilled but danceable sounds.

HUMANS‘ video for ‘Breakfast With Liz’ is a quirky work of art filled with grinding, phenomenal lighting and exceptional beats. This music video is an instant classic in the electronic music scene. Simple, yet strategic choreography, an uncomfortably long stare down and lots of pelvic thrusting. The song might be HUMANS‘ finest so far, as this is sure to fill up any dance floor with sweat.
