Keen samplers, nostalgic producers and fans of retro sounds will delight in the news that Sega has announced another round of video game soundtrack releases via Spotify.
The 16-Bit Genesis console’s less advanced sound chip meant that, historically, Sega’s designers had to be more creative than their Nintendo counterparts, developing a team of composers that would ultimately create some of the most iconic video game soundtracks of the era.
Spotify users can now stream the entirety of the soundtrack to OutRun (one of the most famous video game soundtracks of all time), NiGHTS, Fantasy Zone, Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio and Skies of Arcadia – with more releases slated for release in the early part of 2017.
