Tell us about your earliest musical memory?
It’s not the earliest, but one very decisive and important. In 2001 I was 16, my father received a computer from his company, it was my first computer with Windows 2000 and a few months later my brother and a friend bought me software called « Rave Ejay ».
I didn’t know anything about making music back then, it was all new to me and It was one of the first easy programs with loops for making music without any music knowledge. I started to make my first track with this software – nothing professional, but it was the first step to music production.
At what point in your life did you have that moment where you said to yourself “This is it. This is the type of music I want to create?”
Trentmøller released his EP – with 2 tracks ‘Le champagne’ and ‘In Progress’ on Naked Music in 2003 (label from NYC). I was 18 and this EP dropped like a bomb on my head.

There is a lot of influential albums:
– the first one is “Trentmøller – The Last Resort”, (again)
– Robag Whrume – ‘Thora Vukk’
– Gui Boratto – ‘Take My Breath Away’
– and for the love of the music Miles David – ‘Kind of Blue’ to name a few.
What key pieces of gear/software are you using to define your sound?
Well I have few synthesizers and my setup is built up to be on a constant jam with hardware, and I’m always using them:
– Nord Rack 2x
– Korg Ms 2000
– Moog Slim Phatty
– Cyclone TT303 (clone of Roland Tb303)
– Behringer Model D
– Motif Rack Xs
– And some others…
What inspires you outside of music? What do you turn to when the creative well runs a little low?
For my side, I need to look around me, turn off my phone, social media and have some inspiring walks outside of my studio. The landscape is really good for inspiration, and for sure I spend time with my family.
Sometimes when I am a little bit down on inspiration I go on holiday with my wife, my son and sometimes friends.
Being without music for a few days and being watchful of life, taking care of things other than music is a breath of fresh air and I come back very productive.
What is your opinion on the ever-spreading sub-genre vine? Are there too many? Do you think there’ s perhaps a sub-genre that doesn’t get the attention it deserves?
Music is an expression of feelings. Music is like taste and colours; everybody has a different feeling and we need to respect it. Electronic music has spread so much over the last 20 years, what an evolution. It’s gone in every direction and I think it is a very good sign because people are interested in it. New producers constantly bring new horizons, new feelings, new styles. If you take the Rock’n’Roll industry, how many genres have developed since its creation? I think the same is happening to electronic music.
The variety of choice is a good sign of wellness, and very promising for the future.
A sub-genre always works if it finds its public when it gets mature.
Studio work and music creation or performing and interacting with a live audience, what do you prefer?
I love both. On one side, you are totally alone with your consciousness, the other is to meet people and connect yourself with your public, and make people dance. Without the public, I wouldn’t have decided to make this my job.
As a music artist, it becomes apparent that there is a huge difference between the art and the business. Is there anything about the music scene that you would personally change?
Music consumption, everything’s going so fast. The lifespan of a track, there are so many released every day. Sometimes it’s complicated to keep up…
I remember when I started to get involved, by this time everybody was saying “Oh did you listen to the latest XXX”, and everybody would have knowledge of it. Today, people come to me: “Do you know this, Do you know that” and I get confused because I have no idea who they’re talking about.
Any new or upcoming artists on your radar? Who shouldn’t the world sleep on?
Yes of course! Should I talk about my new project “Öara” Ahahahhaah, same guy but different music and by the way I got some releases coming with it. Stay tuned…!
What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects or gigs in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
Yes, there is a lot! I spent a lot of time in my studio, so I’ve prepared releases until 2020:
– Stil Vor Talent,
– Sweet Musique,
– Some labels I can’t speak
– and maybe my label, I will talk soon about this point.
For the moment I’m focused on my Live Set, the V.2 is coming end of September with unreleased and released tracks, I can’t wait to play it! And for gig’s I will announce it on social media, stay connected 😉
