Arthur Baker has always been an artist to watch, with his skills helping him climb in the industry and building towards collaborations with the likes of Amine Edge, Mistajam and Al Green. The producer has also assisted the older, more established industry legends – for example working with Bob Dylan as a mixer and editing Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Family Man’. Arthur Baker also stepped forward to produce and remix New Order’s ‘Confusion’ as well as remixed other well-known tracks from the likes of Steppenwolf, Cyndi Lauper, The Pet Shop Boys and The Avalanches.

Which is why, when we caught wind of his latest remix, we knew we had to get our hands on it. Remixing the works of ISQ’s ‘Ode To Myself’, the producer is taking up the vocals of Irene Serra and incorporating them into a lush soulful jazz meets house mix. Apparently, the producer is old friends with Irene, which is one of the reasons he was particularly eager to take on the remix. 

‘Ode To Myself (Arthur Baker remix)’ is lifted from ISQ’s upcoming album, Requiem For the Faithful 2.0: The Remixes. The band have already shared the first remix off the album – ‘L.A.S (Urchin remix)’ and between the two, it’s safe to say we’re eagerly waiting for the full-length release.
