DOYEQ is a unique two-man live-project of Sergey Kulikov and Vitaliy Bragin.
Due to their extensive knowledge and practical experience in electronic music from 1997, in 2009 musicians started the project with deep sound. Much of knowing came through continual sound experiments and researches. All that made DOYEQ inimitable sound, built on deep and powerful groove, that completely fill the listener’s space.
Hi there, how are you and what are you up to today?
Feeling great. Awesome spring mood!
To those not familiar with you, how would you describe your sound?
Mostly deep, electronic sound.
What are the 5 artists that have influenced you the most?
The artists that have most influenced us are:
Metallica
Dolphin
Aphex twin
Prodigy
Depeche Mode
What other artists do you really like at the moment and why?
There are so many great musics in the world now. It’s difficult to choose someone definitely.
What are some of the key pieces of gear you use to write your tracks in the studio? Or do you prefer to use software and plugins?
We have Virus Ti2, Moog Voyager, TC Electronic M3000, acoustic and electro guitars in our studio at the moment. Also, we like to use Maranz recorder for recording some sounds. But our gear can change time by time.
Let’s give their new tune ‘Another Day’ from Cathedral EP a listen:
Has your arsenal of equipment changed much since you first started?
We have used VSTi only when we first started. But then we began buying some gear for our studio.
Do you enjoy playing to an audience or working in the studio?
Both, we actually enjoy playing to an audience as well as working in the studio.
If we gave you the budget to put a line-up together for a mini-fest, who would you book and where would you play?
We don’t want to organize the event, even if we had all the budget in the world.
If you weren’t a musician what would you be?
That’s hard to tell. We were never really thinking about this before.
Do you have any information regarding upcoming releases, projects, DJ mixes or collaborations in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
For now, we are working on our new tracks, podcast and some remixes.
