Yann Tiersen is well known for having composed the soundtrack to the movie Amélie. Although this is huge itself, a successful project such as that can at times hinder fearing they’ve peaked too early. Tiersen is an exception here because “Infinity” (his 8th solo album) is a decent album that combines moody, darker atmospheres, with melodies that draw you in like that of Sigur Ros.
While this album is smothered with atmospheric sounds and is clearly a fairly personal project you don’t feel disconnected with it and it supplies a great soundtrack for those days where you are enjoying doing nothing.
